Good morning!
Talk about going from summer to winter in one day! It's the middle of October, and to see snow on the golf course now for the past 4 days is just too soon! We're all eager to see the snow disappear and resume our fall golf season for a couple more weeks! We're hoping to open again on Wednesday, but the temperatures need to improve drastically - especially the over night temps!
Just a reminder that the American Red Cross is holding a BLOOD DRAW here at Buffalo Hill on Saturday, October 24, from 10a.m. to 1p.m. Please give Stacy a call in the main office (756-4547) to sc schedule an appointment! Remember, the blood YOU give makes a difference, and saves lives.
Finally, remember to attend the KGA Special Membership meeting this Wednesday, October 14,at 6p.m.to ratify the amended by-laws.
Stay hopeful about fall golf and we'll see you soon! Stop up for lunch!

From the Golf Course
Yuck – The snow and cold has us shut down probably through Wednesday.
Path – We may continue work on the cart path this week if the weather permits.
Firewood – We will cut up more firewood this week after we finish hauling away the debris from the dump behind #5 champ green.
Next Week – We will be spraying the greens, tees, and fairways with protective fungicides next week. If things go well, we can get this done in one day, but the weather has to cooperate and the equipment can’t fail. We have planned closures on Monday and Tuesday of next week for the spraying. If we get it done in one day, we will open up earlier, but if the weather isn’t cooperative, then you may find us partially closed additional days next week.
Blow Out - We will blow out the sprinkler system next week. This is done randomly by the
computer program, so keep a close watch for pop up sprinklers!

opportunity for some more "Indian Summer" golf here at BHGC!
One thing this cold weather does remind us is that the holiday season is right around the corner. The Pro Shop will be open thru December for all of your golfer gift needs at awesome prices! We will also be featuring our free gift wrapping service, as in past years. So don't forget your favorite golfer on your list (even if it is yourself), get them the golf gear they want at BHGC!!
On the tournament side we want to wish all of the area high school golfers good luck at their respective state competitions. Class A golfers are to compete here in the Flathead Valley and Class AA players will be in Billings. BHGC is a proud supporter of high school golf here in western MT. When you see the kids out practicing and playing on the course, be sure and give them the encouragement they need and deserve!
Tip of the Week:
Learn to be a better player by watching the professional tours on TV. All of us watch the pros play for big cash on TV. It is very exciting to see them make the amazing shots under pressure. What will help your game is to watch how they play. What I mean by this is to watch things like their routine each time they approach the ball to hit a shot. They are always the same: calm, cool and under control. They stick with their preshot plan and by doing so are able to focus on making a consistent, repeating swing. They don't let their surroundings dictate their mood or
concentration. Work on your preshot plan and you will make better swings and better shots as well.
See you on the course,
Dave, Marlin & Mike

This week congratulations go to Dave Creamer. Dave is this week’s winner of the FREE lunch at Buffalo Hill. Dave was up for lunch and dropped his business card along with his E Mail address in the jar and now he is the winner of a free lunch. WAY TO GO DAVE! That’s all you have to do to be a winner, or just leave your business card on the table and your waitress will deposit it for you.
As the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and I’m sorry to say that is the case with the Half-Way-House for the 2009 golf season. Weather permitting; the HWH will remain open Tuesday Oct. 13th through Sunday the 18th. The good news is that there will be an early ”Halloween Sale” where all candy bars, chips, crackers etc. will be 50 cents each until the supply runs out. Be sure to take advantage of these bargain prices by stuffing your golf bag
or cart with enough goodies to get you through the rest of the season. Also a special THANK YOU goes out to all of you golfers for the support you gave the HWH all summer long, believe me it is greatly appreciated and we are certainly looking forward to the 2010 season.
Once again, one more friendly reminder, don’t forget that Christmas will be here before we know it so if you haven’t made arrangements for your Christmas Party, luncheon or holiday get together give BJ a call and reserve a date for your special event. The dates are filling up fast so make a call this week before it’s too late.
As always we’re looking forward to seeing you at Buffalo Hill,
B J Newgard
